My hobbies include riding horses, reading, animal care and painting. I first became interested in my subject area,
biology, as a young child. When I became a teenager I worked at many pet stores which taught me more about animals/biology.
I was not sure of what college I would go into after high school, but I was sure that Biology the study of living things
would be my field of choice. After graduating high school, I went to Suffolk Community College to receive my associates
in lab technology. Not satisfied that I found what I wanted to do I went on for a four year degree at SUNY
Stony Brook. At SUNY Stony Brook I graduated with my Bachelors in Science my majors being both Biology
and Chemistry. Still not sure of my career path I decided to go for my Masters in Ecology at Stony Brook.
As I was going for my Masters, I took a job as an adjunct teacher at Stony Brook. I taught several biology freshmen
classes, and summer programs for high school students interested in biology. I realized that was where I wanted to be, in
a classroom. I have been there ever since and I still enjoy working in the classroom as much as I did when I started 9 years
ago.
